T.R.E stands for Tension and Trauma Release Exercises - the most tender and yet the most powerful approach I have come across
T.R.E
T.R.E gives you the opportunity to release what your body has been holding on to and carrying for a long time. This enables you to reclaim your energy and vitality fully, and the most beautiful part … you do not have to revisit the past! Staying present in the body during sessions, allows it to release at its own pace and in its own time, without having to focus on the narratives of your past.
T.R.E is a practice that activates our inbuilt natural tremoring mechanism. The tremoring response is the body’s natural way of releasing tension. Our pets do it all the time. Notice the first thing your dog does about a minute after feeling scared, it will literally shake it off. From head to tail! Tremoring is activated by different exercises that stimulate the muscle groups around the hips, and releases with it tension held in the body. With regular practice guided by a practitioner these tremors can also release trauma, big and small, stored in the body.
The beauty about T.R.E is that once you have mastered the technique, you can continue your practice at home on your own. You don’t need any fancy equipment, just yourself, the floor, soft clothes and some quiet time. I have spent many years in therapy which really helped me make sense of and come to terms with some of the things I have experienced in my life time, on a mental level. T.R.E has helped my body understand and release the trauma and twnsion that was stored physically. This release has freed up an exceptional amount of energy that I never thought I would have again.
